Is President Obama Truthful? His Whopper Of The Year

(BrightCitizen.com)  The Barak Obama’s Administration says it has cut federal spending during Barak’s time in office. “That is what makes it whopper of the year,” syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer says of a report that federal spending, under the Obama administration, has risen at the lowest pace in 60 years.

“This is an unbelievable distortion of the truth. If you compare it to what was spent in the Bush years, particularly if you take out the emergency spending that the two administrations agreed on in the end — the bailouts — then you have an 8% increase, which is historic. You had it in 2009 alone, increases in the agencies of 20% and 50% in some of the agencies. Historically high and Obama increased it year after year.” “So what he is talking about really is a false impression. There was no intention ever by any administration of repeating the bailouts that you have to have in September, October, and November of 2008 and then the beginning of 2009. And if you count it in it’s deliberately distorting the facts. And I’m not sure if there is anybody who believes it because it’s so obvious, If an administration starts with the largest stimulus spending bill in galactic history, it obviously is not cost-cutting administration,” he said.

People With Business Sense Vote Against Obama- US Chamber Of Commerce

(BrightCitizen.com)  For the last 3.5 years, business leaders have been showing their displeasure with Barak Obama’s incompetence that is bringing instability to the US economy.   Businesses will not remain silent about random threats of taxation, the constant demonization of making a profit (what businesses have to do to have employees), and the total lack of teamwork in shoving the healthcare law, Obamacare, down American’s throats with no debate to create an effective healthcare system.  Business leaders are not sitting around.  Reuters reports,

The business lobby, which has opposed some of the Obama administration’s key domestic policies, including the 2010 healthcare restructuring law, historically stays away from the presidential race but hits hard on congressional elections as well as state attorneys general and elected judges races.

“Our strategy is to protect the pro-business majority in the House and advance our interests in the Senate,” said Rob Engstrom, the group’s national political director.

BrightCitizen.com applauds this action (although we find it unfortunate that politics involve such large sums of money).

NAACP Shows It’s True Colors, Partisonship

(BrightCitizen.com) As African-Americans, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is seen as founded to help eliminate the segregation and discrimination against African-Americans, blacks.  The majority of blacks in the United States are strongly against ‘Gay Marriage’ according to the polls.

Is the NAACP is biased and partitioned towards one party or are they trying to represent African Americans?  The news reports say,

The NAACP announced Saturday the 103-year-old black civil rights group is supporting same-sex marriage.

The group’s board of directors made the decision at a meeting this weekend, saying it was a “continuation of its historic commitment to equal protection under the law.”

The decision follows President Obama’s recent support of gay marriage, a move that threatened to divide key parts of the Democratic voting base — the gay and black communities.

Why The US Government Should Not Be Doing Job Programs

(BrightCitizen.com)  We all know it.  The government can not manage things well, or even efficiently.  One of our senators commissioned a study and found out what has been done with some $18B of taxpayer money that has been set aside for ‘job programs’ which Barak Obama said was his highest priority (to solicit votes no doubt).

The 2011 Government Accountability Office study he [Sen. Tom Coburn] commissioned, which examined programs in fiscal year 2009, found an overlapping and duplicative maze of 47 federal jobs programs run by nine agencies. Some were rife with mismanagement, waste, fraud, abuse and corruption.

The study found:

  • Some job training participants spent their days sitting on a bus.
  • Some were trained for jobs that didn’t exist.
  • Others were paid to sit through educational sessions about jobs they already had.
  • High school students were knowingly exposed to the cancer-causing agent asbestos as part of a job training program.
  • Funds were misspent to pay a contractor for ghost employees and to purchase video games.
  • Job training administrators spent federal funds on extravagant meals and bonuses for themselves.
  • In one state, workforce agency employees took more than 100 gambling trips to casinos mostly during work hours

Piers Morgan Should Not Be Interviewing Christians Like Kirk Cameron

Piers Morgans attempts at being a neutral interviewer have been revealed as nothing of the sort.  Here he clearly attacks the position of Kirk Cameron on Cameron’s position on homosexuality.  Cameron had been on his show earlier.

Morgan says he respects the opinions of others, however he publicly bashes Cameron with another guest on his show as “judgmental” and “hypocritical” if it is something he does not agree with.  Very childish and rude to have a guest and later criticize them.  Beware of Piers Morgan if you are expecting a neutral and accommodating member of the media.

Good cop, bad cop Barak Obama and Joe Biden

(BrightCitizen.com)  As the former Delaware senator, and know Vice President of the United States, is known as a loose canon what a perfect person to use to make a statement.

“I am absolutely comfortable with the fact that men marrying men, women marrying women and heterosexual men and women marrying are entitled to the same exact rights, all the civil rights, all the civil liberties,” he said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “And quite frankly, I don’t see much of a distinction beyond that.”

Biden went on to say the situation is “evolving” and that the “social culture” is changing. In doing so, he cited the hit sitcom “Will & Grace,” which was about a woman living with a gay man. “I think ‘Will & Grace’ probably did more to educate the American public than almost anything anybody’s ever done so far,” he said.

Quoted here.  Clearly Obama is very much a leftist by American standards.  Will he say that he supports gay marriage?  Probably not until after he gets elected.

Romney Would Be Wise To Integrate

(BrightCitizen.com)  Mitt Romney’s organization and planning to get the nomination for US presidential candidate from the Republican party may have paid off.  All the potential candidates to challenge him have suspended their campaigns.  All is left is old man Ron Paul.  Since Paul is over 70 and has no chance in getting the nomination, he cannot be considered a serious contender.

There is a good thing that Romney can learn from the race.  Pick up the good things that supporters liked about their Republican candidates.

-Paul’s followers zeal

-Santorum’s supporter’s desire for someone with a Christian ethic

-Gingrich’s supporters desire for no more business as usual in Washington DC.

We really admired Newt because he was not just a talker as we see with nearly all politicians.  Newt was willing to try something new to address the changing issues the United States faces each year.

Advice for Mitt, look at the strengths of your competitors and bring them in to your campaign.  Don’t pick a Palin, but find a VP candidate that people will like and can help you win.

Amazon.com, The World’s Largest Online Marketer, And Largest Pornographer To Boot

(BrightCitizen.com)  If you are using Amazon.com to buy things online, you will find that in general they are easy to deal with.  Jeff Bezos has done an amazing job turning this money losing company into a money maker.  However, there is a dark side to the story.

Amazon does not allow customers to turn off pornographic content.  You have to see all the trash.  So you could be searching for sunglasses and all the sudden see a porn flick in your search results.  Somehow we were served up a video described as ‘A Lesbian Romp’.  Finding something we don’t want to see that is offensive is not the best customer service.

Someone contacted Amazon customer service at Amazon via email and asked them where there was a setting to turn off the adult/explicit content.  They response was long and unrelated.  You can skip over that below.

Our search methods go beyond simple keyword matching and may also be using information not visible on the search results page, including attributes provided by the publisher or manufacturer.

NARROWING YOUR SEARCH
If you are searching across all departments, you may want to narrow your search by clicking on one of the department names (such as “Books” or “Toys & Games”) shown on the left of the search-results page, or by choosing the department name from the drop-down menu next to the search box.

Once you are searching within a department, you’ll be able to refine your results further by selecting the desired attributes of the products (e.g.: brand, size, etc.) using the links shown to the left of the search results.

In some departments, you may also choose Advanced Search from the navigation bar at the top of the home page. Advanced Search allows you to choose which attributes of a product (title, author, etc.) to search for.

Conclusion to the story, Amazon will sell anything and everything regardless of what lives it destroys, marriages it ruins, or people it messes up… Amazon will do whatever it can to make a buck.
A good response if they want to be considered the world’s best Customer Service team is to allow users to turn off explicit content as one can on Google, Yahoo, as well as Bing.
